Happy Krishna Janmashtami

Shree Krishna Janmashtami brings with it celebration, hope, happiness and reassurance.
 Everyone aspires their child to be like the eternally cute BalGopal. And they celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna, just as they would celebrate the birth of their own child.
The atmosphere is just magical. There is so much positive energy all around.
I believe, the Lord does come over to enjoy the celebrations, the extravaganza. He is present and is a part of all the festivities. After all it is the Devotees, who make the Lord--the GOD!

भक्त  बिना  क्या  भगवान् ;
भगवान् बिना  क्या  भक्त।
दोनों  एक  दूजे  के  बिना  अधूरे ,
दोनों  एक  दुसरे  के  पूरक।

Tanhaiyon mein aksar----

तन्हाइयों  में  अक्सर ----

 सिर्फ  ख़ामोशी ही  जब बोलती  है , 

 सिर्फ  परछाई  ही  जब  साथी  होती  है,

और किसी के आने  की आस होती है ---

ये  हवाएँ , ये खिड़कियाँ, ये दरवाजे ,

सभी  ख़ामोशी  से कुछ  कह  जाते  हैं--

शायद  किसी के आने  की  खबर  देते हैं---

हम  तो  नादान  ठहरे --

अक्सर  इनकी  बातों में  आ  ही जाते  हैं 

और  दरवाजे  तक भाग  ही आते हैं ---

लेकिन  कौन  समझाए  इस  दिल को ,

आने वाले  खबर  नहीं भेजते ,

वो  तो  बस  आ  ही जाते हैं।

Happy Independence day!

A day of  celebrations and feeling proud,
A day to remember the freedom fighters,
A day of looking ahead and have a vision,
A day to acknowledge our achievements.


May be we belong to different states,
May be we speak different languages,
May be we belong to different religions,
But there is only one sentiment in all of us--
We are Indians first!


No other festival can be as auspicious,
No other party can be as big as this,
No other moment can be as proud as,
Watching the National flag flying high.

Inspired by RAINS----My Hindi Poem!

Aaj phir kuch yaadon ne dastak di hai----

आज फिर कुछ यादों ने दस्तक दी है ----

सावन के सावरे बादलों ने   ,

जब बारिशों के आने की आहट दी  है,

आज फिर कुछ यादों ने दस्तक दी है. 

हरी हरी घास और  हरे पत्तों ने ,

फिजा को एक रूहानी सी रौनक दी है,

आज फिर कुछ यादों ने दस्तक दी है. 

जैसे कल की ही बात हो,

बम्बई की सड़कों पे हम,

बारिश की फुहारों  संग,

हाथों में हाथ लिए,

एक छाता साथ लिए ,

भीगते चलते थे हम,

यूँ ही गुनगुनाते हुए ,

नज़रों से नज़रे मिलाते हुए ;

खिड़की पे बैठते कभी,

बारिश को देखते  हम,

भीगा हुआ सा  मौसम,

अजीब से जज्बात जगाते थे ,

एक दूसरे के होने का एहसास ,

सारे जहाँ को भुलाते थे;

आज फिर बारिशों का मौसम आया है ,

और कुछ यादों ने दस्तक दी है---

हाँ , कुछ उम्र बीत गयी है ,

फिर भी -------

आज कुछ यादों ने दस्तक दी है.

अभी कुछ  हसरतें बाकी हैं ........
रूहानी सुबहों में-- तुम्हारे साथ वक़्त बिताना  ...
अभी बाकी है
बारिश की ठंडी फुहारों में--- तुम्हारे साथ वक़्त बिताना  ...
अभी बाकी है…
गर्मियों की ठंडी रातों में ----तुम्हारे साथ वक़्त बिताना  ...
अभी बाकी है…
सर्दियों की गर्म धुप में -----बाग़ों में तुम्हारे साथ वक़्त बिताना ...
अभी बाकी है---
हाथों में हाथ लिए ---यूँ ही खामोश बैठ कर----
कुछ वक़्त तुम्हारे साथ बिताना ------
यह हसरत अभी तो  बाकी है-----

In Thoughts----My Hindi Poem!---SILSILA AANE-JAANE KA----

सिलसिला   आने   जाने   का ----

मौसम    आते    हैं ,   मौसम   जाते    हैं ;
दिन    यूँ    ही    कटते    चले   जाते    हैं 

सुबह    आती   है    तो    शाम   का   इंतज़ार    होता   है ,
रातें    आती    है   तो    सुबह   का   इंतज़ार    होता   है

एक     त्यौहार     बीतता     है     तो ,
दुसरे     के    आने    का    इंतज़ार    होता    है;

लोग   आते   है ,  लोग   चले   जाते   हैं,
बस   एक   हम   हैं,   जो   वहीँ   के   वहीँ   खड़े   रह   जाते   हैं .

100 Glorious Years Of Indian Cinema

It is difficult to say, whether Society influences Cinema or the Cinema influences Society. But whenever a situation in real life is correlated with a film sequence---whether it is a song or a dialogue, it seems cinema has tremendous influence on our mind, in our behavior.
So, you can listen to a lot of  filmi songs, whether it is a wedding or a party. So much so, that even lover's express their love by singing a film song only.
Indian cinema has certain characteristics, which is unique. Its extravaganza, songs and dance sequences, dialogues etc. No other country perhaps has so much variety in this powerful medium of entertainment.
How can you forget the dialogues like---------------
'--mere paas maa hai----'
'----kitne aadmi the-------'
'-----teesra baadshah main hoon----'
'----khush to bahut hoge tum--------'
'-----jinke ghar khud seeshey ke hon, woh dusron par pathar nahi maara karte----'
'-----jaani, yeh chaku hai, haath lag jaye toh khoon nikal aata hai-----'
'-----jeena yahan marna yahan, iske siwa jaana kahan-----'
'----aapke paaon dekhe, bahut haseen hai, inhe jameen par mat utariyega, maile ho jayenge-------'
'-----mogembo khush hua-----'
'-----k-k-k-k-k-k-kiran-------'
'------jo darr gaya, samjho mar gaya----'
'------don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi, namumkin hai----'
'------picture abhi baaki hai------'
I mean, you can go on and on-----

Then there are countless immortal songs, never to forget dance numbers and unforgettable stories. I don't think it is fair to give grades to the films by counting them on a 1 to 20 or any other scale. Just imagine, how much imagination, time, money and devotion is required to make one good film. It doesn't matter, whether it is blockbuster or not, they all are impressive pieces of art and should be given respect.
100 years and still counting----CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!
