Celebrating the Republic Day of India---Celebrate being Indian.

Every day we feel the pride of being an Indian. And today is of course the special day, when we fully engross ourselves in the celebrations. While the whole India is celebrating the 64th Republic day today, there is something which is missing.......What is it? The enthusiasm, I suppose.
Honestly, at the back of my mind some things are troubling my thoughts-----the corruption, the killing of the Indian soldiers at the 'Border', the heinous crime of 16th December,2012  and many more such incidents.
We do believe in the principles of ,
'SARVE BHAVANTU SUKHINAH;  SARVE SANTU NIRAMAYAH;
SARVE BHADRANI PASHYANTU; MAA KASCHITDUKH BHAKBHAVET;
OM SHANTI, SHANTI, SHANTI.
Which means, each becomes happy, each one of us are free from illness, each one of us are free from worries. May there be Peace, Peace and Peace.
So the happiness and celebrations are somewhat incomplete, even if one Indian is unhappy.
But, let us look at the positives----I presume everyone is conscious of his/ her  national pride, their rights and duties and responsibilities towards the country. It is so heartening to see that, especially among the youth. The protest march by the citizens shows or reassures, that democracy is still alive in INDIA.
HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY!

SALUTATIONS TO THE MOTHERLAND !

Although  INDIA  is  a  country , where  each  day  is  celebrated  like  a  festival, no  festival  can  be  so  inclusive  like  the  one  today------
                          the  Republic  day  of  India!

When  each  of  its  citizen  joins  the  celebrations  with  equal  enthusiasm  and  pride.
When  I  come  to  think  of  it , it  is  difficult to  decide , as  to which  are  the  things  I  should  feel  more  proud  of------
---its  unity  in  diversity;
---its  rich  cultural  heritage;
--- Its  mighty  Himalayan  ranges  in  the  north;
--- the vast  and  never  ending  sea   coasts;
--- Its  humble  rivers;
----the  great  Indian  deserts;
The list goes on-----!
The  average  Indian  with  deep  family  ties , having  the  capability  to  adjust  and  come  out successful in dealing with all  sort  of  adversaries  is  perhaps  the  most  important  strength  of  our  country.
Shedding  all  the  differences , when  the  pride  of  the  country  is  involved and  march  behind  the  National flag, is  perhaps  the  most  commendable  trait  of  the  Indian  people.

                              HAPPY  REPUBLIC  DAY!

Chitrangada  Sharan.
